As soon as the person has stably withdrawn from drugs or alcohol, he is ready to start gaining the life skills he needs to deal with his problems, instead of wiping them out with drugs or alcohol. He or she must gain basic communication skills and an ability to confront his or her problems, people and life. He or she must also shed the pain and regrets of the past, and learn the practical life skills that make one able to maintain a drug-free life in the future. This is accomplished through the eight phases of the Narconon program.

Alcohol acts as any other drug or toxin.
A small amount is a stimulant, a larger amount acts as a depressant, and given enough it can and will kill you dead.

addiction acts as any other addiction; we simply give it its own name – alcoholism.

abuse alcohol involves cessation of use and withdrawal (often requiring close medical supervision in an alcoholics case), a full and complete
detoxification of the body, followed by life skills to confront, deal with and effectively remove the cravings, guilt and depression that goes hand in hand with those who heavily abuse alcohol.

Narconon Arrowhead has a multi-phase program which fully addresses these three points and gives the individual the skills and abilities necessary to resolve these three points for themselves.

Rehabilitate means to restore to a former condition or state, while program refers to a series of steps to bring about an intended result.
At Narconon Arrowhead we use a multi-phase approach to first end drug
abuse and
addiction while restoring mental and physical health and vigor with full
detoxification of the body.
We then go on to assist the individual in handling issues surrounding cravings, guilt and depression that led up to and then continued the
abuse and addiction.
Once past problems and issues have been resolved to the student’s satisfaction he is ready to move into learning tools and abilities to enable him to confront the present and to create the future he wants for himself, family, career, etc. While there are probably as many issues to confront as there are addicts and each has his own particular scene, the above is the rough outline for achieving a drug free productive life for our students, while addressing each individuals particular needs.
